The Gold Flower was inspired by the classic Chrysthanthemum cocktail, a drink made of dry vermouth, benedictine and a few drops of absinthe. Surprisingly complex with a touch of honey and anise, we wanted to build off this notion of a low alcohol sipper.
An ideal addition to your spring cocktail recipes.
We use the same amount of vermouth, 2oz, but use two ingredients you don’t often see together, Lazzaroni Amaretto(made from amaretti cookies since 1852) and Green Chartreuse. The Gold Flower is named for its color and rich honey flavor. The chartreuse adds an herbal edge to balance the richness.
- 2oz Dolin Dry Vermouth
- .5oz Lazzaroni Amaretto
- .25oz Green Chartreuse
- 5 drops Chamomile Citrus Bitters
Stir with cracked ice. Strain into cocktail glass and garnish with lemon twist. Seasonly available from The Imperial Life on College Street in downtown Asheville.
