Paul Miller (DJ Spooky / That Subliminal Kid) is the leading voice for global ecology and sustainable urban design. A graduate from Bowdoin College with degrees in French literature and philosophy, Paul interest in music, art, culture and earth systems science came together when he spent time at Dartmouth as a research fellow through the Dickey Center for International Understanding, and he teamed up with the Hopkins Center to create a show called Terra Nova: Sinfonia Antarctica.
His Terra Nova tour inspired tens of thousands of students across the country. Paul integrated electronic music, photography, live classical musicians and a narrative that painted a clear and disturbing portrait Antarctica’s rapid transition.
We caught-up with Miller this 2012 Earth Day Weekend at NYC Green Festival and explored the future of green cities and how art and music can shape sustainability.
